Older Layouts
This page is a showcase of all my really simple - and ugly - old layout designs, made back when I first started creating web layouts. Please prepare yourself for the worst - they are pretty atrocious. I've put them up here to basically display my journey to my current layout styles. I don't think anyone wants any of these, but if you do... well, I'll make one better for you.
Chaos Theory
This is essentially me, trying to make an incredibly cool graphic, into a layout. It didn't work all that well. It is bland, and weird looking. But the picture is cool, isn't it? Just stare at the picture, and everything is fine. The coding is very simple for this one, obviously.

Hitenshouku
The word "Hitenshouku" comes from Tales of Symphonia and is "Rising Falcon," one of Lloyd's techs, in japanese. I hope. The idea was to make this one look classy, but I eventually got bored with it looking weird and left it like this. I don't really like it, and it is not hard to see why.

Apple Wednesday
I created this one as a challenge from one of my friends (thanks, Nicky.) I asked him what I should name the next layout I create, and he said, "I don't know. How about 'Apple'?" At first I was like, "there's no way," but I put "wednesday" after "apple" because I asked him on a Wednesday. I pulled it off! The site itself is okay, a bit red, but it does the job.

Night
This layout is a fixed background layout. The idea came from an actual night sky that I was privileged to see. There was only a sliver of a moon and a single star out. The background was a beautiful turquoise and teal gradually shifting to a light navy blue. It was about 6:00 p.m., and I was coming out of Borders. I knew I had to name it something simple, because the beauty of the sky that night was simple. But yeah, this layout turned into crap.

Aki-Ame Art
This layout got changed around a lot before I decided it was fit for the web. It is my most conservative layout yet I think. The web layout was intended for an art site, though I completely made up the name. It has a very big space to put navigation in that I thought a site like that would need, and the content space is a simple white. I think it needs a little more color. It's like the half saturated version of a painting called "The Grinch Holding a Bell Pepper In a Rainforest." It's so green.

Rain
I added so much stuff to this one in Photoshop. I must have had over thirty layers for this one. It has a fixed background with the text floating on top. I did the picture for this one myself, using only a computer (no scanning predrawn images). The girl's name is Artemis, and she is a character in my Harry Potter story that I am working on. The background suits her personality very well, and that is why I put her in there.

Imagination
This is a multi-purpose layout. I made a few design breakthroughs on this one. There is actually two content sections, which was all my idea. This layout is DIV layer, and is based on a quote by Albert Einstein - "Imagination is more important than knowledge" or something like that. I was afraid that if I put the second content box, the site would be too big, but it worked out perfectly. At first this one was going to be a different color, but I though the warm hues suit it better.

Waiting to Dream Again
I got the idea for this layout from a music video I saw on an airplane once. I think the song was called "Good is Good", but I might not remember correctly. This has a fixed background with the content on top. Only the side background doesn't move, but the rest does. It is DIV layer, and I don't really like the huge content blocks, but whatever.

Hidden Bliss
This is an interesting layout. I made a huge CSS breakthrough doing this layout - positioning backgrounds in the titles. I made the background look like actual parchment. The original idea was to have it look like a diary entry or something. Then it evolved into a sort of old writing piece. And I think it looks nothing like either ideas. But that's okay. Anyway, this layout is div layer, like pretty much all of my layouts.

Lilac Tears
When I made this layout, I loved it. It was a really good idea, and the name is more unique than the rest of the layouts. This layout is an iframe layout with a main links section and a sidebar links section that consists of only pictures. It is really nice, and doing the design for it was enjoyable, especially playing with the lightness of the lilac. It might be more of a purple than a lilac, but I didn't have a good idea of what color lilac was.
