A Lot To Say Inc. Green Fashion Show Signs

3 display signs | Summer 2010 | A Lot to Say Inc.

A Lot To Say Inc.

These signs were created for a green fashion show taking place in New York. The idea was to make them look gallery-like, since they would be displayed under giant glass vases filled with plastic bottles, yarn, and the A Lot To Say apparel in order to illustrate the process of creating the products.

Hindsights

Book jacket, poster | Spring 2010 | Visual Design & Typography 1

Hindsights

The Hindsights project was a four week long class assignment that involved making a book sleeve and book poster for the book Hindsights by Guy Kawasaki. This was probably my favorite assignment in the class and probably the one that turned out the best out of the assignments I did.

SoMA Junction

5pg magazine spread, magazine ad | Spring 2010 | Visual Design & Typography 1

SoMA Junction

This was an interesting assignment for Visual Design & Typography 1 where we had to create a design for a magazine spread for an article written for the SoMA district in San Francisco (south of market.) I had to go on location to take the pictures, which was great, and got to experiment with different type options for print.

Animations

Animating never seemed to be my strong point growing up. Even though I had access to Flash (back in Macromedia's days,) I could still could not animate anything better than masking shapes, tweening circle-squares, and a 30 second music video of a stick figure mouthing the words to "Dancing Queen." After I was introduced to After Effects (in Motion Graphics 1), I discovered a fascination with animating and have been working to improve my skills ever since then. Currently I am experimenting with visual effects and video footage.

Ink and Sketches

I've drawn for as long as I can remember, but I didn't begin doing any serious ink work until a year or two ago. Armed now with a modest amount of amazing pens, I'm working every day to improve my proportions, line quality, and confidence with the medium.

Named Beauties (colored pencil)

The "Named Beauties" collection is a series of colored pencil drawings I did in 2008 when I first began seriously experimenting with color pencil. Half of these were completed within the same week, during a long drive from Alaska to California.

Otherworld (color pencil)

The "Otherworld" collection of colored pencil drawings is a slightly creepier experiment I did with color pencil; I still add to this collection today. The newer ones are listed first.

Here are some experiments I've done with other mediums, including acrylic and watercolor paints, oil pastel, and different color papers.
